Salt boxes or salt cellars are used in cooking to get that perfect pinch of salt. It makes the seasoning easily accessible. I have always wanted one of my own, and I thought – why not just make it? This was my first time using the wood lathe, and I greatly enjoyed the flow state of the woodworking process.​​

These pieces were made out of some scrap chunks and pieces from the Hobby Shop at MIT and finished with a food grade mineral oil.​​
